Marketing

Marketing begins on the inside out. Marketing should be 20% thank you and 80% remember me. Marketing is how we tell the story of us and our practice in an effort to retain existing patients and obtain new patients.

If we don’t tell our story, someone else will in a way that we may not agree with or appreciate. Even a busy practice may lose patients because of the changing market and increased competition if they don’t tell their own story. We recommend reading Jim Collins’ book “How the Mighty Fall”.

Take out your flip chart and create a marketing calendar. Feel free to use our template to create your marketing plan for the next 12 months. By October the following year’s plan should be established. This will help you plan a budget and execute a strategy.

1.) What should be included in your marketing plan? Internal and external.

2.) What is internal marketing? Patient referral packets, programs, POP waiting.

3.) What is external? Website, baskets, community outreac

4.) How do you execute the marketing strategy? Designate a marketing team member and tasks to each team member, remember it is a team effort.
