We're Making Sites HTTPS Secure

Starting October 24th, 2017, web pages that are not delivered via the HTTPS protocol will be marked by Google as 'Not Secure'.

We're ready! We've been monitoring the rise of security measures online, and we've recently made the decision to make sure that our clients' websites are upgraded with SSL certificates AT NO EXTRA CHARGE, prior to the change taking effect.

While SSL certificates are usually a huge hassle for an individual client to handle—as they require frequent renewals, specific site configurations, and sometimes a high price tag—we are taking care of it all for you!

Without HTTPS After October 24th, 2017

Important Details About This HTTPS Upgrade

  • Having an SSL certificate installed on your website provides visitors with an extra level of security and peace-of-mind.  HTTPS basically encrypts information sent between the visitor and web server, at a higher level than that of just HTTP.
  • Not to be confused with being end-to-end HIPAA compliant.  While having an SSL certificate on your website helps security, there is much more to HIPAA compliancy. For specific questions regarding that, please talk to your EHR provider.
  • You won't need to do anything, we'll take care of making your site HTTPS compliant. Note that there are a few exceptions where certain practices have some irregular configurations with DNS, so we'll be contacting those practices individually.
  • At this point, the 'Not Secure' warning will only come into play if 2 conditions are met: 1) a person is browsing with Chrome version 62 (available Oct. 24) AND 2) there are places to type input into a search field or form.
  • There have been suggestions that a site delivered more securely via HTTPS will experience a boost in SEO performance, but there is no guarantee that this will be the case with your site, nor are there any concrete performance results to gauge your site by.
